The snowbirds miss out on some of the summer fun. A few days ago both golf carts, a Jeep and two trucks responded to a problem in the boat storage area. There was a 4 ft Rattlesnake under one of the boats. But it was quickly taken care of and the Park settled down to normal.
The first weekend in May was a bear here. Lots of people coming in to get settled for the summer. All of us were running here and there. It has settled down for now and the rest of the summer crowd is trickling in. The new camp hosts have gotten into the swing of things and it is great having Chris work with me three days a week. I think we have it all under control… [ha!] but stay tuned. The summer is just beginning.
I broke away from town and went up to the VLA on Sunday. I've been here four years and had never made that trip. The weather was perfect for a little road trip and I really enjoyed getting away. Sometimes one only needs a break, not a vacation.
Thinking of you all, Pat

Enjoyed your little update....always fun to hear what's going on at Lakeside. Can imagine the excitement with the snake. Look forward to further updates. Linda/Newell
Thanks for the update Pat.
Keep up the good work there. It was good that you got away. You need to do that! Dave & I miss everyone around there.
Great to hear the latest from Lakeside and that you finally got the opportunity to visit the VLA.
We think of you often and wish you the very best summer season. Hopefully no more "drama" with snakes... however, in New Mexico the best advise is to ALWAYS be aware. Linda & Randy
Goodness snakes! Glad we missed that excitement, I hope you 'splained to him before carrying out his sentence that he'd best tell his relatives to go elsewhere.
So glad you got a good road trip, and that things are settled down - at least for today :)
