Beautiful, COOL Rapid City!

We came from Cheyenne to Rapid City today - longer than I like to travel in a day, but we're here and I can sleep tomorrow! We had a little trouble with the coach, but we were very lucky that it happened after we'd already pulled over for a little break, and Ki was able to do a temporary repair. We already had an appointment for coach service for Tuesday anyway, so they can deal with it!

Our time in Cheyenne was too short! We sat out chatting with our friends until too late a couple of nights, and enjoyed the nice days and COOL nights (do you see a theme here, you Lakeside folks talking about 110 today??)

The ride here was gorgeous - everything is so very green, they must have had a wet winter because there's water in every stream and river and pond. It's spring all over again up here, lilacs in bloom everywhere and all sorts of wildflowers I can't identify. We might get some rain and T-storms in the next few days, it'll be interesting to see how much wet stuff Phyllis and Ken send us from Oregon - we'd just as soon they not send too much!

Hail Damage

I am glad that my parents (and none of you for that matter) were visiting me 10 days ago. Hail hit us hard and my sweet van that we drove to visit Lakeside at Christmas this past year...now looks like it has been beat up by a million little hammers!! I hope you all are having fun and enjoying your locations as I settle in to enjoy our new home, Gillette, Wy!!! Hope to hear from any of you as your travels may bring you through here, around here, or no where near here!! I look forward to another visit (when is still to be decided) to Lakeside and to play games and laugh with all of you! In case you did not meet me, I am Phyllis and Ken's daughter Whitney. I must be like my mom because here I am rambling!! I know my parents are ducks (literally webs are growing in between their toes right now in Oregon). I hope the rest of you are enjoying the amazing summer weather!!!

Hello, Cheyenne!

Here we are, east of Cheyenne, WY. We spent two happy summers at this park and met some wonderful people that we're still friends with. We didn't let the owner of the park know we were coming, we wanted to surprise her for her birthday (a couple of days late) and it sure was fun to see her face! I love the smell of the grass here, especially after a little rain, and the gorgeous skies and sunsets, and all the birds. We'll only be here a couple of days before heading out for Rapid City, but I'm not going to want to leave!
